SHIB, BONE Now Fully Integrated by This Top Crypto Jobs Platform for Payments

Shiba Inu and Bone Added as Payment Options on LaborX in Major Boost for Shibarium Ecosystem

The jobs platform LaborX has fully integrated the popular meme coins Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) as payment options in a major adoption boost for the nascent Shibarium ecosystem.

LaborX, which connects freelancers to Web3 companies, quietly added support for SHIB last February. Now, it has also integrated the Shibarium gas token BONE, allowing users to earn both tokens for completing tasks on the platform. "The meme coin Rock Star band is growing bigger!" LaborX announced.

The integration underscores the rapid growth of the two interlinked tokens following the long-awaited launch of Shibarium Layer 2 in December. In just over a month, the Ethereum scaling solution has already processed over 3 million transactions, hitting a peak of 200,000 transactions per day in mid-September.

While transaction volumes have declined from those early highs, Shibarium remains firmly on the path to mainstream adoption. The network promises to unlock greater utility for SHIB as a payment currency, and also enables a sustainable burn mechanism funded by a portion of BONE gas fees.

A recently launched tracker shows 0.5 BONE has already been set aside for future SHIB burns. The LaborX integration offers another clear use case for spending and earning SHIB and BONE, adding fundamental utility that will underpin the tokens' value.

For a community driven meme coin with no venture capital backing, Shiba Inu has shown remarkable growth and maturity over its short two-year history. The organic development of an entire ecosystem of tokens, products and services is a testament to the power of decentralized collaboration.

While skepticism remains in some quarters, integration by an established platform like LaborX demonstrates that Shibarium is rapidly crossing the chasm from speculative asset to useful technology. Parallels can be drawn to the early innings of networks like Ethereum and Solana, which also faced doubts before finding product-market fit.

As Shibarium rolls out further integrations and refines its offering, it may well be poised for mass adoption on a similar trajectory. For decentralized crypto-economies, the network effect is key. The more quality platforms accept SHIB and BONE as payment, the more utility and value the system accrues.

LaborX's integration is an important signal that the wheels are in motion. For true believers, it's yet another reason to HODL on tight. The meme coin revolution has only just begun.

Will Shibarium Help Decentralize the Gig Economy?

The adoption of SHIB and BONE by LaborX raises interesting questions about the future of work. By leveraging decentralized technologies, could platforms like this help wrest control of the gig economy from centralized incumbents and put more power in the hands of workers?

Decentralized protocols have clear advantages for digital payments and escrow services. Transaction fees on platforms like Shibarium are a fraction of the cut taken by the middlemen of Web2. Workers also need not hand over personal data to sign up. And smart contracts can encode fair dispute resolution mechanisms directly into the system.

But reducing rent extraction alone may not transform power dynamics. True decentralization requires workers have ownership stakes and votes over platform governance. Worker cooperatives organized as DAOs could be an optimal structure. Platforms might also need mechanisms to prevent a race to the bottom in pricing.

As with any new technology, there are risks to guard against. But used thoughtfully, decentralized building blocks could enable the next generation of crowdworking marketplaces to be more participatory, competitive, and just. Shibarium offers a launchpad - but realized decentralization will require organizing power from below. The meme coin revolution should aim to democratize economic opportunity for all.
